Programmer Studio is not just an editor! Programmer Studio is a fully integrated visual development environment designed to meet the requirements of those programmers developing on any platform, Windows, UNIX, MPE, OS/400, VMS, etc.
Programmer Studio can be used by virtually any programmer working with text based source files regardless of the programming language or target platform. This allows programmers developing on any platform to benefit from the many familiar time-saving features provided by Windows, whilst still using their existing server-based compilers and debuggers.
Unlike most professional development environments, Programmer Studio is not tied to any specific programming language. Through the highly customizable environment you can start working in any one, or all, of the 30+ ready to use languages or simply create your own.
Through an integrated approach to editing, compiling and debugging, Programmer Studio makes it easy to develop software regardless of whether the file is simply on your PC or located on a remote server running a legacy operating system.
Programmer Studio uses the established protocols FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and TELNET to ensure that many of the features found in other Windows development environments can be reproduced on a remote server. FTP and TELNET are supported by the vast majority of server operating systems regardless of age.
By integrating support for both FTP and TELNET, Programmer Studio presents a seamless interface to open and edit files, and execute compilers and debuggers. When comparing this to a conventional development process which would usually involve juggling a PC editor, file transfer utility and terminal window, Programmer StudioÆs advantages become immediately apparent.
Programmer Studio provides an even greater level of support for those users working on the more complex HPe3000 server platform. Using our custom file access protocol - WTRSH, Programmer Studio is able to access every type of file, including COPYLIBÆs, SPOOL files and even Qedit« files.
